Trump’s Last Visits to Palmetto State

This isn’t Trump’s first time in South Carolina; he has a history of strong support in the state. He was the keynote speaker at the South Carolina Republican Party’s annual Silver Elephant fundraiser in August. Additionally, he held a rally over the Fourth of July weekend in a small South Carolina city, attracting a crowd estimated to be between 50-55,000 people.

Trump has won South Carolina in both the 2016 primary and the general elections in 2016 and 2020.

Trump is expected to be joined by state and local leaders. Local officials have mixed feelings about the rally event.

Summerville Mayor Ricky Waring won’t be attending but hopes Trump enjoys his time in the town. County Council Vice Chairman David Chinnis is also not attending but expressed happiness that Dorchester County is getting attention.

On the other hand, Gov. Henry McMaster and U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, both strong Trump supporters, will be present at the event.
