Former Vice President Mike Pence is facing fundraising challenges as he enters the 2024 Republican primary race. Since officially launching his campaign in June, Pence raised $1.2 million, while a pro-Pence super PAC received $2.7 million during the second quarter of 2023. These numbers trail behind several rivals, including former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, impacting Pence’s ability to advertise and garner support.
To qualify for the first primary debate in August, candidates must attract at least 40,000 unique donors and meet polling criteria. While Pence expresses confidence in making it to the debate stage, early polling shows he has gained only around 7% support nationally.
Despite the challenges, Pence remains committed to his conservative platform, focusing on issues like abortion restrictions and shrinking the federal government. He aims to build momentum in a crowded field of candidates vying for the Republican nomination.
