Montgomery, Alabama – Attendance at the Alabama Republican Party’s ALGOP’s summer dinner in Montgomery is expected to reach unprecedented levels as former President Donald Trump is slated to be the keynote speaker on Friday.

With over 2,000 attendees anticipated at the Renaissance Montgomery and Convention Center, the event is set to break records for previous Republican Party dinner gatherings in the Yellowhammer State.

Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl affirmed on Tuesday night that despite Donald Trump’s recent indictment on charges related to the 2020 election, the former president’s appearance at the state GOP summer dinner remains unaffected. Wahl stated, “There has been no change at this point; everything is moving forward on Friday night’s dinner.”

Trump to speak at ALGOP’s Summer Dinner:

The highly anticipated dinner is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 4, 2023, at the prestigious Renaissance Montgomery Hotel at the Convention Center. The evening’s proceedings will commence with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

"We are excited at this opportunity to raise the profile of our state by hosting the GOP frontrunner for president and giving Alabamians the chance to interact with him. Alabama is a Super Tuesday state and will play an important role in selecting our Party's nominee," expressed Chairman Wahl.

The visit by former President Trump to Alabama follows his recent legal challenges, as he faces a four-count indictment issued on Tuesday, making it the third case against him. The indictments stem from allegations of trying to overturn the result of the 2020 election and other related charges.

Despite mounting legal pressures, Trump has denounced all cases as efforts to derail his 2024 campaign for the White House. His appearance at the ALGOP’s summer dinner is expected to be a significant event for his presidential aspirations.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a key rival of Trump’s for the Republican Party’s nomination for President in 2024, holds the current attendance record at ALGOP dinner events. DeSantis drew 1,700 attendees during his keynote speech at the ALGOP’s winter dinner in March.

Chairman Wahl assured that efforts are being made to accommodate the high demand for tickets, recognizing the significance of hosting the frontrunner for the GOP nomination.

Alabamians will have the opportunity to hear directly from President Trump about his vision for the nation during the dinner.

The dinner’s spotlight on Trump comes just one day after his scheduled arraignment in a Washington court. This event holds particular significance as Alabama is set to play a crucial role in the Republican nomination process, being a Super Tuesday state.

As the event approaches, the anticipation and excitement among attendees are palpable, making the dinner a pivotal moment in Alabama’s political landscape.
