The campaign has released the names of special guest speakers who will join Trump at the Waterloo event. These include Republican Iowa Representatives Derek Wuff and Charley Thompson, as well as local activists Kelly Parker and April Melton from Black Hawk County. Joshua Graber, the senior pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church, is also on the list of guest speakers.

Today’s event is particularly noteworthy as it marks the 100-day countdown to the Iowa caucuses scheduled for January. “This is more than just another campaign stop; it’s a milestone on the road to the caucuses,” said an insider from the Trump campaign.

After Waterloo, Trump will proceed to Cedar Rapids, where he is slated to speak at the DoubleTree Convention Complex by Hilton at 4:00 p.m. ET. Joining him will be special guests Iowa State Senator Charlie McClintock (R) and Iowa State Representatives Cindy Golding (R) and Mark Cisneros (R).

Trump Campaign Strategy and Polls

Trump is doubling down on his efforts to secure a decisive win in Iowa, a state that could significantly impact the momentum of other candidates. Recent polls from Public Opinion Strategies show Trump leading by a substantial 31-point margin among Republican caucus-goers in the state.

“Given the competition, especially from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, we’re not taking anything for granted,” said Alex Latcham, Trump’s director for early voting states.

Sources familiar with the campaign’s internal workings have revealed discussions about relocating one of Trump’s top advisers temporarily to Iowa. “I’ll definitely be in Iowa, but how long I’ll stay is nobody’s business,” said the adviser, who wished to remain anonymous.

Trump’s visit today follows a series of Iowa appearances, including a speech in Ottumwa last Sunday and meetings with local farmers in Leighton. Last month, he attended an Iowa-Iowa State football game and gave speeches in Maquoketa and Dubuque.
