Trump Calls Out McEnany for Misleading Poll Numbers on Fox News

Trump Criticize McEnany

In a recent social media post on Truth Social, President and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump criticized his former White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, accusing her of providing inaccurate poll numbers during her appearance on Fox News. The dispute revolves around the 2024 presidential primary race.

Trump’s rebuke comes after Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis declared his intention to run for the presidency, and McEnany seemingly expressed support for his candidacy in the past. However, it appears that McEnany may have referenced a poll commissioned by American Greatness, suggesting Trump’s 25-point lead over DeSantis in South Carolina.

Trump, however, disputes these numbers and points to the Real Clear Politics average, which recently indicated his 34-point lead in the overall primary race. Taking to social media, he criticized McEnany, labeling her as “Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany” and accusing her of providing incorrect figures. Trump emphasized that his lead over DeSantis is 34 points, not 25, asserting that McEnany was aware of the corrected number from the polling group.

Donald J. Trump Said On Truth Social

“@realDonald Trump”

Kayleigh "Milktoast" McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on FoxNews. I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up. While 25 is great, it's not 34. She knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll. The RINOS & Globalists can have her. FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!

Expressing his frustration, Trump further stated, “The RINOS & Globalists can have her. Fox News should only use REAL Stars!!!” It remains to be seen if McEnany will respond, although it is speculated that she will choose to take the high road in this exchange.

While McEnany maintains an account on Truth Social, her last activity on the platform dates back nearly a month to April 30. The report was posted by Kaitlan Collins, Chief Correspondent and co-anchor of @CNNThisMorning, who highlighted McEnany’s previous defense of Trump from the White House briefing room the day after the events of January 6.

In response to the incident, social media users also voiced their opinions. Laura Loomer tweeted, “@kayleighmcenany is and always has been an opportunist. She said the most vile things about Trump & then saw him as a way to get rich. If being a backstabbing witch is how you court suburban women, then maybe she’s your hussy of choice. I prefer loyal women.”

Another user criticized McEnany’s decision to join Fox News despite the network’s actions during the events of 2020. They commented, “Kayleigh McEnany chose to go work for Fox News after all of the shenanigans the network pulled in 2020. She continues to work for Fox after the war on her former boss took full shape. She’s even assisting in it. Trump has every right to call her out.
