Pickens County Councilman Alex Saitta expressed his excitement about President Trump’s visit, highlighting the opportunity for Trump to connect with his strongest supporters in the state. According to Saitta, an overwhelming 75 percent of Pickens County voters supported Trump in the 2020 election, marking his largest victory margin among the state’s 46 counties. Saitta also drew a historical parallel, noting that George W. Bush visited Pickens in 1999 before winning the presidential election the following year.

In addition to President Trump’s remarks, the event will feature captivating fireworks and live performances by renowned musical acts, including the Carolina Highway Band, Boggs Brothers Band, and Splitshot Band. Attendees can look forward to an unforgettable day of entertainment and celebration.

Pickens, known for its strong support of President Trump, was strategically chosen as a campaign stop due to its reputation as an extremely pro-Trump region, as reported by The Charleston Post & Courier. Trump’s visits to Pickens County in both the 2016 and 2020 elections resulted in remarkable victories, with a 53-point margin over Hillary Clinton in 2016 and a 51-point victory over Joe Biden in 2020. The event’s backdrop of a small, city-sanctioned July Fourth celebration in the picturesque foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains offers a departure from Trump’s traditional large stadium-style rallies. However, its geographic location makes it easily accessible for supporters from neighboring Southern states.

A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll revealed that 43% of self-identified Republicans prefer Trump as their candidate of choice, while 22% expressed their favor for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. This indicates a significant base of support for Trump’s return to South Carolina.

Trump’s address to the crowd is scheduled for 1 p.m., and gates for the Main Street event will open at 9 a.m. Tickets for the rally are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis through online registration.

The Pickens Independence Day Spectacular, which includes the Trump rally, will conclude at 9 p.m. with a dazzling fireworks display, providing a memorable end to the day’s festivities.

The Trump campaign has also teased the presence of unnamed special guests and state lawmakers who will deliver remarks at 11:30 a.m., further adding to the excitement surrounding the event. Longtime Trump ally, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who resides nearby in Seneca, is also expected to be in attendance.

For those eagerly anticipating President Donald Trump’s visit, this rally in Pickens, South Carolina presents a unique opportunity to witness his address, enjoy live performances, and celebrate Independence Day in grand style.
